String Theory by Jimmy Brown
SWEET SORROW
In the previous two lessons, Jimmy Brown looked at celebrated examples of musically effective ways in which songwriters, when composing in a major key, have borrowed chords, specifically triads, that are generated from its parallel natural minor or har- monic minor key and scale. In this lesson, Jimmy cites equally famous ways in which musicians such as The Beatles, Journey, and Derek and the Dominoes have expanded upon this chord-borrowing concept.
