The new amp is the middle child – or as Guitar World Tech Editor Paul Riario puts it, the “Goldilocks version” – of the three different combo formats of Peavey’s impressive and innovative VYPYR series of guitar modeling amplifiers. The VYPYR X1 is a 30-watt, 1×8 combo, while the X3 is a 100-watt, 1×12 combo. The VYPYR X2, in comparison, is 1×12 combo that offers up a comfortable 60 watts of power.
