You’re listening to the isolated guitar mix here. The full instrumental mix of the tune “Smash Hits 7” can be found here for the comparison:
Really love hearing some of the legendary recordings as isolated guitar tracks. It’s really revealing and give you a new perspective of what’s really going on. My guitar track here might not be as legendary as some of the other stuff, like the Van Halen stuff you find here on YouTube. But I thought some people could find this entertaining atleast. This is the C-cassette sound. The tape does some magic to the guitar tone, also adds some good warble!
I left the reverbs and delays on so you get to hear how wet the guitari track really is in the mix. I used to have a lot of dry guitars in my mixes in the past, well not anymore these days. Also if you listen closely you can hear I’m using a doubler plug-in in the mix. Just a Waves-plug in to emulate double or triple tracking of guitars. It copy pastes the track, adds some delay and detune. It maskes some of the out of tune guitars a bit 😉
Hope you like this one. Let me know if there’s some other track you’d wish to hear like this or other suggestions (keep it music related please 😉
ps. In the comments feel free to name your favourite isolated guitar tracks. So we can all check those!
Thanks,
Mika
