Hybrid picking pattern using a pedal tone! Very simple idea yet very useful and cool sounding. I use this all the time in my playing for making simply melodic lines sound more active!
The secret to get a single note sounds is in the rocking hand rolling finger motion. It might not be super easy at first but it becomes natural in time.
