LIVING THE DREAM
Anatomy of a soloon the Allman Brothers’ “Dreams,” part 4
This is the last installment of Andy Aledort’s analysis of a solo that he played over the two-chord progression heard in the All- man Brothers Band classic, “Dreams.” For quick review, “Dreams” is played with a jazz waltz feel in 6/8 meter, and Duane Allman solos over alternating C/D and D chords, with each chord lasting one bar, which actually feel like two bars of 43.
